Gibeah’s Crime

22 As they were ^omaking their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, ^psurrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, “Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.”

13 Now therefore give up the men, ^jthe worthless fellows in Gibeah, that we may put them to death ^kand purge evil from Israel.” But the Benjaminites would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the people of Israel.

Eli’s Worthless Sons

12 Now the sons of Eli were ^aworthless men. ^bThey did not know the Lord.

17 Now therefore know this and consider what you should do, ^pfor harm is determined against our master and against all his house, and he is such ^qa worthless man that one cannot speak to him.”

7 And Shimei said as he ^xcursed, “Get out, get out, you man of blood, you worthless man!

The Rebellion of Sheba

1 Now there happened to be there ^da worthless man, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite. And he blew the trumpet and said,

10 And set two ^wworthless men opposite him, and let them bring a charge against him, saying, ^x‘You have cursed¹ God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”

13 And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.
