Jeremiah Warns Zedekiah

1 Zedekiah the son of Josiah, ^kwhom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah, reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim.

13 ^gAnd he took one of the royal offspring¹ and ^hmade a covenant with him, putting him under oath (ⁱthe chief men of the land he had taken away),

16 “As I live, declares the Lord God, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant with him he broke, ^lin Babylon he shall die.
