38  Like a lion he has left his lair,

for their land has become a waste

^kbecause of the sword of the oppressor,

and because of his fierce anger.”

16  Cut off from Babylon the sower,

and the one who handles the sickle in time of harvest;

^dbecause of the sword of the oppressor,

^eevery one shall turn to his own people,

and every one shall flee to his own land.
