25 From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, zI have persistently sent all my servants the prophets to them, day after day. 26 vYet they did not listen to me or incline their ear, abut stiffened their neck. bThey did worse than their fathers.

that I commanded your fathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, cfrom the iron furnace, saying, dListen to my voice, and do all that I command you. dSo shall you be my people, and I will be your God,

For I solemnly warned your fathers when I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, iwarning them persistently, even to this day, saying, dObey my voice. jYet they did not obey or incline their ear, kbut everyone walked in the stubbornness of his evil heart. Therefore I brought upon them all hthe words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did not.

For twenty-three years, ffrom the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken gpersistently to you, hbut you have not listened. hYou have neither listened nor inclined your ears to hear, although the Lord gpersistently sent to you all his servants the prophets,

33 mThey have turned to me their back and not their face. And though I have taught them npersistently, they have not listened oto receive instruction.

pYet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying, Oh, do not do this abomination that I hate! qBut they did not listen qor incline their ear, to turn from their evil and make no offerings to other gods.
