Job 22:6–11

6  For you have exacted pledges of your brothers for nothing

and stripped the naked of their clothing.

7  bYou have given no water to the weary to drink,

and you have withheld bread from the hungry.

8  The man with power possessed the land,

and the favored man lived in it.

9  You have sent cwidows away empty,

and the arms of the fatherless were crushed.

10  Therefore snares are all around you,

and sudden terror overwhelms you,

11  or darkness, so that you cannot see,

and da flood of water covers you.

Psalm 18:26

26  with the purified you show yourself pure;

and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous.

Proverbs 11:17

17  A man who is kind benefits himself,

but a cruel man hurts himself.

Matthew 18:32–35

32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 bAnd should not you have had cmercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ 34 And in anger his master delivered him to the djailers,1 until he should pay all his debt. 35 eSo also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

Matthew 25:41–43

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, a‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’

James 2:13

13 jFor judgment is kwithout mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
