21  before I goand aI shall not return

to the land of bdarkness and cdeep shadow,

22  the land of gloom like thick darkness,

like deep shadow without any order,

where light is as thick darkness.

22  He vuncovers the deeps out of darkness

and brings wdeep darkness to light.

17  For edeep darkness is morning to all of them;

for they are friends with the terrors of deep darkness.

Man puts an end to darkness

and searches out to the farthest limit

the ore in zgloom and adeep darkness.

22  There is no ggloom or hdeep darkness

where evildoers may hide themselves.

17  Have ithe gates of death been revealed to you,

or have you seen the gates of jdeep darkness?

Even though I kwalk through the valley of lthe shadow of death,1

I will mfear no evil,

for nyou are with me;

your orod and your staff,

they comfort me.

1 iThe people kwho walked in darkness

have seen a great light;

those who dwelt in a land of ldeep darkness,

on them has light shone.

16  vthe people dwelling in darkness

have seen a great light,

and for those dwelling in the region and wshadow of death,

on them a light has dawned.
