10  Behold, I have ^qrefined you, but not as silver;

I have tried¹ you in the furnace of affliction.

29  The bellows blow fiercely;

the lead is consumed by the fire;

in vain the ^arefining goes on,

for the wicked are not removed.

9  And I will put this third into the fire,

and refine them ^bas one refines silver,

and test them as gold is tested.

They will call upon my name,

^cand I will answer them.

^dI will say, ‘They are my people’;

and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
