16  And I will lead the blind

in a way that they do not know,

in paths that they have not known

I will guide them.

I will turn the darkness before them into light,

^tthe rough places into level ground.

These are the things I do,

and I do not forsake them.

14  But Zion said, ^d“The Lord has forsaken me;

my Lord has forgotten me.”

6  For the Lord has called you

like a wife ^udeserted and grieved in spirit,

like a wife of youth when she is cast off,

says your God.

7  For a brief moment I deserted you,

but with great compassion I will gather you.

15  Whereas you have been forsaken and hated,

with no one passing through,

I will make you majestic forever,

ⁿa joy from age to age.

4  You shall no more be termed ^pForsaken,¹

and your land shall no more be termed ^qDesolate,²

but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,³

and your land Married;⁴

for the Lord delights in you,

and your land shall be married.

12  And they shall be called The Holy People,

The ^cRedeemed of the Lord;

and you shall be called Sought Out,

A City Not Forsaken.
