17  Is it not yet a very little while

until Lebanon shall be ^fturned into a fruitful field,

and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest?

15  until ^sthe Spirit is poured upon us from on high,

and the wilderness ^tbecomes a fruitful field,

and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.

1  ^uThe wilderness and the dry land shall be glad;

the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus;

2  it shall blossom abundantly

and rejoice with joy and singing.

The glory of ^vLebanon shall be given to it,

the majesty of Carmel and Sharon.

^wThey shall see the glory of the Lord,

the majesty of our God.

3  For the Lord ^ecomforts Zion;

he comforts all her waste places

and ^fmakes her wilderness like ^gEden,

her desert like the ^hgarden of the Lord;

joy and gladness will be found in her,

thanksgiving and the voice of song.
