24  The Lord of hosts has sworn:

^q“As I have planned,

so shall it be,

and as I have purposed,

so shall it stand,

25  that ^rI will break the Assyrian in my land,

and on my mountains trample him underfoot;

and ^shis yoke shall depart from them,

and ^shis burden from their shoulder.”

26  This is the purpose that is purposed

concerning the whole earth,

and this is ^tthe hand that is stretched out

over all the nations.

27  ^uFor the Lord of hosts has purposed,

and who will annul it?

^tHis hand is stretched out,

and who will turn it back?

5  ^xI am the Lord, and there is no other,

besides me there is no God;

^yI equip you, though you do not know me,

6  ^zthat people may know, from the rising of the sun

and from the west, that there is none besides me;

I am the Lord, and there is no other.

7  I form light and create darkness;

I make well-being and ^acreate calamity;

I am the Lord, who does all these things.

9  remember the former things of old;

for I am God, and there is no other;

I am God, and there is none like me,

10  ^ydeclaring the end from the beginning

and from ancient times things not yet done,

saying, ^z‘My counsel shall stand,

and I will accomplish all my purpose,’

11  ^acalling a bird of prey from the east,

the man of my counsel from a far country.

^bI have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;

I have purposed, and I will do it.
