15  And the Lord will utterly destroy¹

the tongue of the Sea of Egypt,

and will ^rwave his hand over the River²

with his scorching breath,³

and strike it into seven channels,

^sand he will lead people across in sandals.

27  who says to the deep, ‘Be dry;

I will dry up your rivers’;

38  A drought against her waters,

that they may be dried up!

For it is a land of ^vimages,

and they are mad over idols.

32  the fords have been seized,

the marshes are burned with fire,

and the soldiers are in panic.

36  Therefore thus says the Lord:

“Behold, I will ^fplead your cause

and take vengeance for you.

I will dry up her sea

and make her fountain dry,
