Isaiah 14:13–14; Isaiah 14:2; 1 Thessalonians 2:4; Ezekiel 28:2

13  You said in your heart,

fI will ascend to heaven;

above the stars of God

gI will set my throne on high;

I will sit on the mount of assembly

in the far reaches of the north;1

14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

I will make myself like the Most High.


And qthe peoples will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them in the Lord's land ras male and female slaves.1 sThey will take captive those who were their captors, tand rule over those who oppressed them.


but just as we have been approved by God pto be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not qto please man, but to please God rwho tests our hearts.


hSon of man, say to ithe prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God:

jBecause your heart is proud,

and kyou have said, I am a god,

I sit in the seat of the gods,

in the heart of the seas,

yet lyou are but a man, and no god,

mthough you make your heart like the heart of a god
