10  You felt secure in your wickedness;

you said, ^j“No one sees me”;

your wisdom and your knowledge led you astray,

and you said in your heart,

“I am, and there is no one besides me.”

15  This is the ^hexultant city

that lived securely,

that said in her heart,

ⁱ“I am, and there is no one else.”

What a desolation she has become,

a lair for wild beasts!

^jEveryone who passes by her

hisses and shakes his fist.
