6  “I am the Lord; I have called you¹ in righteousness;

I will take you by the hand and keep you;

ⁱI will give you as a covenant for the people,

a ^jlight for the nations,

8  Thus says the Lord:

^s“In a time of favor I have answered you;

in a day of salvation I have helped you;

I will keep you and ^tgive you

as a covenant to the people,

to establish the land,

to apportion the desolate heritages,

3  Incline your ear, and come to me;

hear, that your soul may live;

and ^aI will make with you an everlasting ^bcovenant,

^cmy steadfast, sure love for David.

8  For I the Lord love justice;

I hate robbery and wrong;¹

I will faithfully give them their recompense,

and I will make an everlasting ^lcovenant with them.
