10  For the stars of the heavens and their constellations

^hwill not give their light;

the sun will be dark at its rising,

and the moon will not shed its light.

10  The earth quakes before them;

the heavens tremble.

^cThe sun and the moon are ^ddarkened,

and the stars withdraw their shining.

9  “And on that day,” declares the Lord God,

^z“I will make the sun go down at noon

and ^adarken the earth in broad daylight.

15  A day of wrath is that day,

a day of distress and anguish,

a day of ruin and devastation,

^pa day of darkness and gloom,

^qa day of clouds and thick darkness,
