The Remnant of Israel Will Return
20 In that day the premnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more lean on him who struck them, but will qlean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 21 rA remnant will return, the sremnant of Jacob, to the tmighty God. 22 For uthough your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. vDestruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.
3 Then I will agather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.
8 And while they were striking, and I was left alone, hI fell upon my face, and cried, i“Ah, Lord God! Will you destroy all the remnant of Israel in the joutpouring of your wrath on Jerusalem?”
15 cHate evil, and love good,
and establish justice in the gate;
dit may be that the Lord, the God of hosts,
will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
12 I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob;
I will xgather the yremnant of Israel;
I will set them together
like sheep in a fold,
like a flock in its pasture,
a noisy multitude of men.
7 The seacoast shall become the possession
of the bremnant of the house of Judah,
on which they shall graze,
and in the houses of Ashkelon
they shall lie down at evening.
For the Lord their God will be mindful of them
and crestore their fortunes.
The People Obey the Lord
12 Then mZerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him. And the people feared the Lord.
6 Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, kshould it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the Lord of hosts?
5 So too at the present time there is a fremnant, chosen by grace.
