24  Therefore the Lord declares,

the Lord of hosts,

^fthe Mighty One of Israel:

“Ah, I will get relief from my enemies

and avenge myself on my foes.

8  ^pFor the Lord has a ^qday of vengeance,

a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

3  ^eYour nakedness shall be uncovered,

and your disgrace shall be seen.

I will take vengeance,

and I will spare no one.

17  He put on righteousness as a ^mbreastplate,

and a ⁿhelmet of salvation on his head;

he put on garments of ^ovengeance for clothing,

and wrapped himself in ^pzeal as a cloak.

2  to proclaim ^athe year of the Lord’s favor,

and the ^bday of vengeance of our God;

to ^ccomfort all who mourn;

4  For the ^fday of vengeance was in my heart,

and my year of redemption¹ had come.
