Hosea 2:8–9
8 And she did not know
that it was I who gave her
the grain, the wine, and the oil,
and who lavished on her silver and gold,
xwhich they used for Baal.
9 Therefore I will take back
my grain in its time,
and my wine in its season,
and I will take away my wool and my flax,
which were to cover her nakedness.
Jeremiah 44:17
17 But we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the wqueen of heaven and pour out xdrink offerings to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the ycities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster.
