11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance ^cof hope until the end,

19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into ⁿthe inner place behind the curtain,

17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to ⁱthe heirs of the promise ^jthe unchangeable character of his purpose, ^khe guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which ^lit is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope ^mset before us.

4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become ^gpartakers of the divine nature, ^hhaving escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith ⁱwith virtue,¹ and virtue ^jwith knowledge,

10 Therefore, brothers,¹ be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and ^qelection, for if you practice these qualities ^ryou will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you ^san entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

15 For ^gyou did not receive ^hthe spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of ⁱadoption as sons, by whom we cry, ^j“Abba! Father!” 16 ^kThe Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

1 See ^ywhat kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called ^zchildren of God; and so we are. The reason why ^athe world does not know us is that ^bit did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are ^zGod’s children ^cnow, and what we will be ^dhas not yet appeared; but we know that ^ewhen he appears^{1 f}we shall be like him, because ^gwe shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who ^hthus hopes in him ⁱpurifies himself as he is pure.
