15 Behold, jI am with you and will kkeep you wherever you go, and lwill bring you back to this land. For I will not mleave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
17 for it is the Lord our God who brought us and our fathers up from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and who did those great signs in our sight and preserved us in all the way that we went, and among all the peoples through whom we passed.
23 But David said, “You shall not do so, my brothers, with what the Lord has given us. He has preserved us and given into our hand the band that came against us.
2 “Oh, that I were as in the months of old,
as in the days when God watched over me,
You Will Not Abandon My Soul
A Miktam1 of David.
1 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
3 He will not let your foot mbe moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your nkeeper;
the Lord is your oshade pon your right hand.
6 The qsun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will rkeep your life.
8 sThe Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
10 “Hear the word of the Lord, O nations,
and declare it in the coastlands far away;
say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him,
and will keep him bas a shepherd keeps his flock.’
12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and cnot one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be dfulfilled.
3 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and xguard you against the evil one.1
