Nehemiah’s Prayer

4 ^fAs soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the ^gGod of heaven.

18 and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

9 And he said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear the Lord, the ^lGod of heaven, ^mwho made the sea and the dry land.”

13 And at that hour there was a ^agreat earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
