The Sacrifice of Isaac
1 After these things vGod wtested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, x“Here I am.”
4 yThen the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain zbread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather aa day’s portion every day, that I may btest them, whether they will walk in my law or not.
2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you pthese forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, qtesting you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.
3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is atesting you, to know whether you blove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
22 in order to htest Israel by them, whether they will take care to walk in the way of the Lord as their fathers did, or not.”
2 qProve me, O Lord, and try me;
test my heart and my mind.1
