Genesis 2:8; Ezekiel 28:13; Ezekiel 31:9; Joel 2:3

And the Lord God planted a fgarden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

13  You were in eEden, the garden of God;

fevery precious stone was your covering,

gsardius, topaz, and diamond,

beryl, onyx, and jasper,

sapphire,1 femerald, and carbuncle;

and crafted in gold were your settings

and your engravings.2

iOn the day that you were created

they were prepared.

I made it beautiful

in the mass of its branches,

and all the trees of jEden envied it,

that were in the garden of God.

pFire devours before them,

and behind them a flame burns.

The land is like qthe garden of Eden before them,

but rbehind them a desolate wilderness,

and nothing escapes them.
