13 The name of the second river is the Gihon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Cush.
9 Now the king heard concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, βBehold, he has set out to fight against you.β So he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying,
31 Nobles shall come from Egypt;
iCush shall hasten to stretch out her hands to God.
11 In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the lremnant that remains of his people, mfrom Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush,1 from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.
9 Advance, O horses,
and rage, O chariots!
Let the warriors go out:
men of Cush and Put who handle the shield,
men of Lud, skilled in handling the bow.
10 therefore, behold, I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, ifrom Migdol to Syene, as far as the border of Cush.
9 Cush was her strength;
Egypt too, and that without limit;
Put and the Libyans were her1 helpers.
10 From beyond the rivers of tCush
my worshipers, the daughter of my dispersed ones,
shall bring my offering.
