6 Abram rpassed through the land to the place at Shechem, to sthe oak1 of tMoreh. At that time uthe Canaanites were in the land. 7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, v“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
18 And Jacob came safely1 to the city of cShechem, which is in the land of Canaan, on his way from Paddan-aram, and he camped before the city.
20 There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.1
29 And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, you shall set wthe blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.
12 “When you have crossed over the Jordan, athese shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
33 And all Israel, csojourner as well as native born, with their elders and officers and their judges, stood on opposite sides of the ark before the Levitical priests dwho carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, half of them in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, ejust as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded at the first, to bless the people of Israel.
