6 Abram ^rpassed through the land to the place at Shechem, to ^sthe oak¹ of ^tMoreh. At that time ^uthe Canaanites were in the land. 7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, ^v“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

18 And Jacob came safely¹ to the city of ^cShechem, which is in the land of Canaan, on his way from Paddan-aram, and he camped before the city.

20 There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.¹

29 And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, you shall set ^wthe blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.

12 “When you have crossed over the Jordan, ^athese shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

33 And all Israel, ^csojourner as well as native born, with their elders and officers and their judges, stood on opposite sides of the ark before the Levitical priests ^dwho carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, half of them in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, ^ejust as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded at the first, to bless the people of Israel.
