God’s Covenant with Noah

20 Then Noah ^obuilt an altar to the Lord and took some of every ^pclean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

7 Then the Lord ^aappeared to Abram and said, ^b“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he ^cbuilt there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

18 So Abram moved his tent and came and settled by the oaks¹ of Mamre, which are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham ^bbuilt the altar there and laid the wood in order and ^cbound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

God Blesses and Renames Jacob

1 God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there. ^fMake an altar there to the God ^gwho ^happeared to you ⁱwhen you fled from your brother Esau.”
