12  He shall be a ^hwild donkey of a man,

his hand against everyone

and everyone’s hand against him,

and ⁱhe shall dwell over against all his kinsmen.”

12  But a ^rstupid man will get understanding

when a ^swild donkey’s colt is born a man!

5  Behold, like ⁱwild donkeys in the desert

the poor¹ go out to their toil, seeking game;

the wasteland yields food for their children.

24  a wild donkey used to the wilderness,

in her heat sniffing the wind!

Who can restrain her lust?

None who seek her need weary themselves;

in her month they will find her.
