7 Then the Lord ^aappeared to Abram and said, ^b“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he ^cbuilt there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

18 ^sOn that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give¹ this land, ^tfrom the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,

7 The Lord, the God of heaven, ^vwho took me from my father’s house and from the land of my kindred, and who spoke to me and swore to me, ^w‘To your offspring I will give this land,’ he will ^xsend his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

4 I will multiply your offspring ^kas the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And ^lin your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,

4 And the Lord said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, ^y‘I will give it to your offspring.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall ^znot go over there.”

7 Did you not, our God, ^xdrive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham ^yyour friend?
