24 “My servant ^cDavid shall be king over them, and they shall all have ^done shepherd. ^eThey shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes. 25 They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. ^fThey and their children and their children’s children shall dwell there forever, and ^gDavid my servant shall be their prince forever.

2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be ^bprince¹ over Israel.’”
