2 fA third part you shall burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are completed. And a third part you shall take and strike with the sword all around the city. And a third part you shall gscatter to the wind, and I will hunsheathe the sword after them.
12 A third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in your midst; a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and a third part I will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them.
8 In the whole land, declares the Lord,
atwo thirds shall be cut off and perish,
and one third shall be left alive.
9 And I will put this third into the fire,
and refine them bas one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
They will call upon my name,
cand I will answer them.
dI will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill xa third of mankind.
18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths.
