19 fMoses took the bones of Joseph with him, for gJoseph1 had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones with you from here.”
12 dThus his sons did for him as he had commanded them, 13 for ehis sons carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field at Machpelah, to the east of Mamre, fwhich Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite to possess as a burying place.
32 As for the hbones of Joseph, iwhich the people of Israel brought up from Egypt, they buried them at Shechem, in jthe piece of land that Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money.1 It became an inheritance of the descendants of Joseph.
