31 So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Alas, ^fthis people has sinned a great sin. They have ^hmade for themselves gods of gold.

33 So they feared the Lord but also served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.

39 “As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord God: ^yGo serve every one of you his idols, now and hereafter, if you will not listen to me; ^zbut my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts and your idols.
