18 Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses qwas on the mountain forty days and forty nights.


28 sSo he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he twrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.1


And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food uforty days and forty nights to vHoreb, the mount of God.


And after fasting uforty days and forty nights, he vwas hungry.


The Temptation of Jesus

sAnd Jesus, tfull of the Holy Spirit, ureturned from the Jordan and was led vby the Spirit in the wilderness for wforty days, xbeing tempted by the devil. wAnd he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, yhe was hungry.
