12 And ^tyou shall set limits for the people all around, saying, ‘Take care not to go up into the mountain or touch the edge of it. ^uWhoever touches the mountain shall be put to death.

21 And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, ^clest they break through to the Lord to look and many of them perish.

23 And Moses said to the Lord, “The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for you yourself warned us, saying, ‘Set limits around the mountain and consecrate it.’”

3 ⁿNo one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite that mountain.”

4 Yet there shall be a distance between you and it, about 2,000 cubits¹ in length. Do not come near it, in order that you may know the way you shall go, for you have not passed this way before.”
