36 “And the king shall ^rdo as he wills. ^sHe shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall ^tspeak astonishing things against the ^uGod of gods. He shall ^vprosper till the ^windignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done.

4 who opposes and ^yexalts himself against every ^zso-called god or object of worship, ^aso that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 And the beast was given ^aa mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for ^bforty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling,¹ that is, those who dwell in heaven.
