31 You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for they even ^xburn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

Abominable Practices

9 ^h“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to ⁱfollow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who ^jburns his son or his daughter as an offering,¹ anyone who ^kpractices divination or ^ltells fortunes or interprets omens, or a ^msorcerer 11 or a charmer or a ⁿmedium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And ^obecause of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.
