2 And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and nyou shall put them in the ark.’
16 gAnd you shall put into the ark the htestimony that I shall give you.
17 i“You shall make a mercy seat1 of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. 18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of jhammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. kOf one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20 lThe cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 mThere I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from nbetween the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.
20 He wtook the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark and set the mercy seat above on the ark.
13 rAnd he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, sthe Ten Commandments,1 tand he wrote them on two tablets of stone.
5 Then I turned and tcame down from the mountain and uput the tablets in the ark that I had made. vAnd there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”
New Tablets of Stone
1 “At that time the Lord said to me, l‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and mmake an ark of wood.
9 There was nothing in the ark except vthe two tablets of stone that Moses put there at Horeb, where wthe Lord made a covenant with the people of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
4 having the golden saltar of incense and tthe ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ua golden urn holding the manna, and vAaron’s staff that budded, and wthe tablets of the covenant.
