Deuteronomy 4:25; Deuteronomy 9:18; Deuteronomy 32:16; Deuteronomy 32:21; 1 Kings 16:7; 2 Kings 22:17
25 “When you father children and children’s children, and have grown old in the land, lif you act corruptly by making a carved image in the form of anything, and mby doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to anger,
18 Then I xlay prostrate before the Lord yas before, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all the sin that you had committed, zin doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger.
16 tThey stirred him to jealousy with strange gods;
with abominations they provoked him to anger.
21 bThey have made me jealous with what is no god;
they have provoked me to anger cwith their idols.
So dI will make them jealous with those who are no people;
I will provoke them to anger with ea foolish nation.
7 Moreover, the word of the Lord came by the prophet nJehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and also because whe destroyed it.
17 pBecause they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore mmy wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.
