18 yI declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, zblessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak ethese words in their ears and fcall heaven and earth to witness against them.

32  Give ear, kO heavens, and I will speak,

and let lthe earth hear the words of my mouth.

The Wickedness of Judah

gHear, O heavens, and give ear, O hearth;

for the Lord has spoken:

Children1 ihave I reared and brought up,

but they have rebelled against me.

12  Be appalled, jO heavens, at this;

be shocked, be utterly desolate,

declares the Lord,

19  Hear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people,

lthe fruit of their devices,

because they have not paid attention to my words;

and as for my law, they have rejected it.

rHear, you mountains, sthe indictment of the Lord,

and you enduring foundations of the earth,

for the Lord has an indictment against his people,

and he will contend with Israel.
