Deuteronomy 21:9; Numbers 35:33; 1 Kings 2:31

So eyou shall purge the guilt of innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

33 You shall not mpollute the land in which you live, for blood mpollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except nby the blood of the one who shed it.

31 The king replied to him, eDo as he has said, strike him down and bury him, fand thus take away from me and from my father's house the guilt for the blood that Joab shed without cause.
