The Defeat of King Sihon

26 “So I sent messengers from the wilderness of ^pKedemoth to Sihon the king of ^mHeshbon, ^qwith words of peace, saying, 27 ^r‘Let me pass through your land. I will go only by the road; I will turn aside neither to the right nor to the left.

19 ^yIsrael then sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, king of Heshbon, and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to our country,’
