23 And when they had ^fappointed elders for them in every church, ^gwith ^hprayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

14 Do not neglect the gift you have, ^zwhich was given you by prophecy when the council of elders ^alaid their hands on you.

3 Therefore, brothers,^{1 j}pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.

5 And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man ^lfull of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch. 6 These they set before the apostles, and they ^mprayed and ⁿlaid their hands on them.
