27 And when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him privately, and there he struck him in the stomach, so that he died, ^mfor the blood of Asahel his brother.

6 And they came into the midst of the house as if to get wheat, and they stabbed him ^tin the stomach. Then Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.¹

10 But Amasa did not observe the sword that was in Joab’s hand. So Joab struck him with it in the stomach and spilled his entrails to the ground without striking a second blow, ^kand he died.

Then Joab and Abishai his brother pursued Sheba the son of Bichri.
