7 And the carved image of aAsherah that he had made he set in the house of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, eand in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever.
27 And the Lord said, “I will remove Judah also out of my sight, uas I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city that I have chosen, Jerusalem, vand the house of which I said, My name shall be there.”
13 pHe shall build a house for my name, and qI will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
29 tthat your eyes may be open night and day toward this house, the place of which you have said, u‘My name shall be there,’ that you may listen to the prayer that your servant offers toward this place.
3 And the Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, nby putting my name there forever. oMy eyes and my heart will be there for all time.
11 then to jthe place that the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, kyour tithes and the contribution that you present, and all your finest vow offerings that you vow to the Lord.
