4 But the king of Assyria found treachery in Hoshea, for he had sent messengers to So, king of ^uEgypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year. Therefore the king of Assyria shut him up and bound him in prison.

The Fall of Israel

6 In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria, and he ^wcarried the Israelites away to Assyria and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

12 and Jehoiachin the king of Judah gave himself up to the king of Babylon, himself and his mother and his servants and his officials and his palace officials. The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign

14 ^vHe carried away all Jerusalem and all the officials and all the mighty men of valor, 10,000 captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. None remained, ^wexcept the poorest people of the land.

7 They slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and ^lput out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him in chains and ^mtook him to Babylon.

11 And the rest of the people who were left in the city and the deserters who had deserted to the king of Babylon, together with the rest of the multitude, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried into exile.

11 Therefore the Lord brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who captured Manasseh with hooks and ^hbound him with chains of bronze and brought him to Babylon.

6 ^pAgainst him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and ^qbound him in chains to take him to Babylon.

20 He took into exile in Babylon those who had escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and to his sons ⁱuntil the establishment of the kingdom of Persia,
