8 Therefore pthe wrath of the Lord came on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has made them qan object of horror, of astonishment, rand of hissing, as you see with your own eyes.
17 h“Edom shall become a horror. iEveryone who passes by it will be horrified iand will hiss because of all its disasters.
15 All who pass along the way
clap their hands at you;
fthey hiss and wag their heads
at the daughter of Jerusalem:
“Is this the city that was called
gthe perfection of beauty,
gthe joy of all the earth?”
36 eThe merchants among the peoples fhiss at you;
gyou have come to a dreadful end
and shall be no more forever.’”
15 This is the exultant city
bthat lived securely,
that said in her heart,
“I am, and there is no one else.”
What a desolation she has become,
ca lair for wild beasts!
dEveryone who passes by her
hisses and eshakes his fist.
