18 ^vSeventy thousand of them he assigned to bear burdens, 80,000 to quarry in the hill country, and 3,600 as overseers to make the people work.

15 Solomon also ^thad 70,000 burden-bearers and 80,000 stonecutters in the hill country, 16 besides Solomon’s 3,300 ^uchief officers who were over the work, ^vwho had charge of the people who carried on the work.

7 ^qAll the people who were left of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel, 8 from their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel had not destroyed—these Solomon drafted ^ras forced labor, and so they are to this day.

20 All the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel— 21 ^ltheir descendants who were left after them in the land, ^mwhom the people of Israel were unable to devote to destruction¹—ⁿthese Solomon drafted to be ^oslaves, and so they are to this day.
