3 ^mFor the time is coming when people will not endure ⁿsound¹ teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,

3 If anyone ^steaches a different doctrine and does not agree with ^tthe sound¹ words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching ^uthat accords with godliness,

13 ^jFollow ^kthe pattern of ^lthe sound¹ words ^mthat you have heard from me, in ⁿthe faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

13 This testimony is true. Therefore ^drebuke them ^esharply, that they ^fmay be sound in the faith,

2 Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, ^psound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.
