15 and how pfrom childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 qAll Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the rman of God1 may be complete, sequipped for every good work.
Christ’s Glory and the Prophetic Word
16 For we did not follow cleverly devised xmyths when ywe made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, zbut we were eyewitnesses of his amajesty. 17 For when he received honor and bglory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, c“This is my beloved Son,1 with whom I am well pleased,” 18 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a dlamp eshining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the fmorning star grises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21 hFor no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but imen spoke from God as they were carried along jby the Holy Spirit.
