12 bWhen your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, cI will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body,1 and I will establish his kingdom. 13 dHe shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the ethrone of his kingdom forever. 14 fI will be to him a gfather, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, 15 but my steadfast love will not depart from him, has I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me.2 Your throne shall be established forever.’”
11 The Lord eswore to David a sure oath
from which he will not turn back:
“One of the sons of your body1
I will set on your fthrone.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace
fthere will be no end,
on the gthrone of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with hjustice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
iThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
15 In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous kBranch to spring up for David, and he shall execute ljustice and righteousness in the land. 16 mIn those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
17 “For thus says the Lord: nDavid shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,
23 And I will set up over them one nshepherd, my servant oDavid, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24 And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the Lord; I have spoken.
24 “My servant cDavid shall be king over them, and they shall all have done shepherd. eThey shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.
